125 The Modern Conflict

The written word is glory in itself,
‘Tis greater heard and spoken for its rhyme,
Yet when ingrained on screen it looses wealth,
While gaining color’s sheen and shorter time.
The book is growing old, as is the rhyme,
For long it has been told that books are wise,
New media fights method proved by time,
Discordia* now sings and order dies!
Perhaps the two will last, in peace survive,
In time anew not one knows what’s to come,
A few still wish to keep the old alive,
Yet what the moderns reap makes men succumb.
The old and new will fight in many ways,
Which of the two is right, which method stays?
